Average text quality for a laser is still very good; this printer should be fine for internal business uses and most external ones except those requiring very small fonts.
As for graphics, some illustrations had contrast problems, with a lot of the gradations between shades lost. Most graphics also suffered mild banding in the form of a regular pattern of finely spaced, thin striations that give the illustrations a slightly textured look. Dithering (graininess) was also common. Many monochrome printers have trouble printing thin lines, which had been in color in the original art, against darker backgrounds; in the KX-MB1520?s case, these lines were often missing altogether. The graphics should be adequate for personal or internal business use if some care is taken as to the shading of the original art. I wouldn?t feel comfortable, though, handing the output to important clients.
Photo quality was similarly problematic, with issues including mild banding (striations similar to those in the graphics, dithering, and poor contrast, with detail in brighter areas often lost. You can print out recognizable images from Web pages or files, but that?s about all.?
Other Issues
The KX-MB1520?s claimed running cost is the same as it was for the KX-MB1500, 3.8 cents per page?on the high side for a mono laser, though a bit lower than the KX-MB2000?s 4.2 cents.
The KX-MB1520 has a lot to recommend it as a personal mono laser MFP: low price, compact size, very good speed for its price, solid text quality, and the ability to fax. The addition of fax capabilities sets the KX-MB1520 apart from the KX-MB1500 as well as the KX-MB2000, though the lack of an ADF somewhat limits this feature?s usefulness. If they break on their own, you can cleanse the area with water and plain soap, dry it, then apply an antibiotic ointment as a part of your skincare routine and a loosely wrapped sterile gauze bandage. It is fine to cut off dead skin from popped blisters. If needed, you can use an over-the-counter pain reliever like acetaminophen until the pain is endurable.
A third-degree burn involves all layers of your skin and possibly structures that are below your skin as well. Some areas of a third-degree burn are usually charred black. You could very well experience major pain, but if a nerve has been harmed by the burn, it is possible that you will feel little to no pain. All third-degree burns need immediate emergency medical care.
For all major burns, obtain medical care as soon as possible. Be sure that the cause of the burn has been removed, but do not remove burned clothing that has adhered to your skin. Until you get emergency medical treatment, cover the burned region with a dry, sterile bandage or a clean cloth. Use a cotton bed sheet for big areas. Do not use blankets or towels, as both have a tendency to stick to burns. Do not apply ointments or try to break blisters.

MIAMI -- U.S. Customs inspectors seized 172 lollipops with heroin hidden in their centers from a jittery smuggler at Orlando airport in Florida, the agency said on Tuesday.
Rafael Quinonez Jimenez, a 45-year-old Guatemalan, arrived on a flight from Central America on Friday and appeared "very nervous and was sweating profusely" as he passed through customs with his luggage, the arrest affidavit said.
Agents searched his duffel bag and found 3.2 kilograms of heroin, or a little over 7 pounds, disguised as candy lollipops.
"When one took off the outside wrapper, there was a thin layer of candy shell covering a ball of condensed heroin powder," Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent John Huang wrote in the affidavit.
Quinonez was arrested on charge of possessing heroin with intent to distribute and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
He had flown to Orlando from Guatemala City, Guatemala. He told investigators that a man he met at a gas station near his home had given him an airline ticket, a hotel reservation and $500 to carry the bag of candy to Florida, and told him he would be given delivery instructions after landing in Orlando.
The Customs inspector said he doubted the story, since Quinonez was carrying $1,500 in cash and his demeanor suggested that he knew he was carrying contraband.

The increased storage of carbon in soil could help to slow down rising atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations.
The Department of Energy-sponsored free-air carbon dioxide-enrichment, or FACE, experiment officially ended in 2009. The conclusion and final harvest of the ORNL FACE experiment provided researchers with the unique opportunity to cut down entire trees and to dig in the soil to quantify the effects of elevated carbon dioxide concentrations on plant and soil carbon.
In a paper published in Global Change Biology, Colleen Iversen, ORNL ecosystem ecologist, and her colleagues quantified the effects of elevated carbon dioxide concentrations on soil carbon by excavating soil from large pits that were nearly three feet deep. Researchers saw an increase in soil carbon storage under elevated carbon dioxide concentrations, a finding that was different from the other FACE experiments in forests.
Researchers found the increase in carbon storage even in deeper soil.
"Under elevated carbon dioxide, the trees were making more, deeper roots, which contributed to the accumulation of soil carbon," Iversen said.
Iversen pointed out that processes such as microbial decomposition and root dynamics change with soil depth, and information on processes occurring in deeper soil will help to inform large-scale models that are projecting future climatic conditions.
